The people over at Microsoft have been showing off a lot about Windows 8 but now they've got something else they want to show off.
The next version of Windows will have a ridiculously fast boot time and this is why:
When you put the computer into hibernation, rather than closing everything properly and starting from fresh every time you boot up. Windows 8 will instead create a "hiberfile" which carries the data of the user session and kernel session. So when you start up Windows 8 it reads the file and literally within a few seconds you're up and running.
Microsoft wanted to prove a point so they even removed the battery to show that it really works how they say. Check out the video to see how crazily fast it is.
