At the Dreamforce conference in San Francisco last week, Eric Scmidt from Google let the cat out of the bag and told the audience that Ice Cream Sandwich will be coming out in either October or November.
This is what he exactly said:
We have a new operating system, internally known as Ice Cream Sandwich for some reason, which is being released in October/November, which everyone's really excited about.
He may have done it un-intentionally but it's what a lot of us Android nerds have been waiting for. With this sort of news we should also be expecting the new Nexus phone at the same time. Google said that every time there is a new version of Android, there will be a new phone from them which will carry it, this is the Nexus series. There are rumors going around that the new Nexus phone will be called the "Nexus Prime" and will be made by Samsung, not Motorola.
I can't wait to be honest, my next device will most likely be the next Nexus phone.
