There’s no ignoring the popularity of the iPhone camera, the three devices which have taken the most pictures on Flickr are all iPhones. It’s just so handy having such a powerful camera in your pocket, available whenever you want.

With the quality of the camera on the iPhone getting better with every generation, some are turning to the iPhone to take over dedicated cameras and make an art form out of it. Instagram is full of photographers where all their pictures are taken with iPhones and they’re stunning, you’d never expect the kind of results you see.

Some like to take it a step further and add additional accessories to their iPhone to make their photography even better. One very popular way is to add additional lenses and OlloClip is probably the most popular lens add on for your iPhone. They’ve been doing it since the iPhone 4.

OlloClip were kind enough to send me a unit all the way from the states for me to review.

The OlloClip consists of three lenses – a wide-angle, fish-eye and macro. These lenses can completely change the kind of photos your iPhone can take, literally taking them to another level.

The fish-eye gives you an approximate 180-degree field of view. It’s actually so wide that sometimes your fingers which are holding the iPhone can end up in the pics. The wide-angle gives you double the field of view you’d achieve with the standard camera. The macro gives you 10x magnification and allows you to get super close to your subject – you have to unscrew the wide-angle to get to the macro.

The quality of the OlloClip is superb. Even though it’s mostly made from plastic it’s very rigid and has a lovely finish – depending on the colour you choose. It comes with a little carrying pouch which doubles as a micro-fibre cleaning cloth, so you can clean your lenses if needed from fingerprints and dust.

It simply slides on over the camera. At first I was a little worried that the plastic would scratch my iPhone but thankfully it didn’t. It’s been designed to have a nice curved and smooth finish so it easily slides on and doesn’t leave a mark. It sits pretty rigidly on the iPhone so it won’t just fall off but can very quickly be taken off. They got the tightness perfect.

It won’t fit over any cases. It’ll only fit on naked iPhones.

To give you an idea of the field of view you get, I’ve included a gallery below with the standard, wide-angle and then fish-eye. You can clearly see how much of a difference the lenses can make. As expected though, there is distortion around the edges of the photo. They do add a very dramatic effect though.

The macro lens is pretty phenomenal. It can get so close that it can show details which the human eye can’t see. You’ll need to centre your object carefully so you get it in focus though.

Overall I was very impressed by the OlloClip. The lenses add a whole different dimension to your iPhone camera. It enables you to take pictures which are pretty phenomenal and makes you think differently too. You’ll want to take pictures which you wouldn’t have been able to achieve with the standard camera.

There’s no denying that Bang & Olufsen make some of the best looking entertainment systems available. The quality and detail which goes into each product is astounding, but with that of course comes their very high price tags. The prices are usually so high that only the wealthy will afford such systems.

Bang & Olufsen have just announced a new sound system which is cheaper than a lot of their other systems, but still priced highly compared to the competition. The BeoLab 14 is their new 4.1 (comes in 5.1 too) sound system which is designed perfectly for the average home. Most of their other sound systems are huge and would be way too powerful for your average home.

The BeoLab 14 may be the best looking home sound system available right now. It’s going to be retailing at £2,500.

Micro Four Thirds may be the thing to bring back Olympus cameras, but boy do Olympus know their way when it comes to styling. The new E-P5 has a look directly from the 60′s, and that isn’t a bad thing. The looks are the only retro thing about this camera, what’s packed inside is one of the best Micro Four Thirds cameras.

The Olympus E-P5 has a lightning fast 1/8000S shutter speed, the first Micro Four Thirds camera to achieve such a feat. It has a five-axis stabilisation system to help you take blur free shots and has a very fast autofocus. The sensor is a 16-megapixel LIVE MOS sensor which runs with Olympus’ TRUEPIC VI image processor. There’s a large tilting 1037k dot LCD touchscreen on the back. Just like a DSLR it also has an array of buttons and wheels to help you configure the camera to your needs. With many cameras now coming equipped with WiFi, this one has it too, allowing you to control the camera remotely from a smartphone.

The price for the body only in the UK is going for £899. No word on what kits will be available in the UK yet.

I’m contemplating on getting one myself but the GF6 is £400 cheaper and comes with nearly all the same features, except the shutter speed and fantastic styling.

Pixel Press is an iPhone and iPad app that lets anyone design their own video game, without having to know any coding.

You simply draw your level on a sheet of paper, take a picture of it with the camera feature in the Pixel press app, test it and then share it so anyone can play. It has a very Mario-like style theme to the levels which is definitely a good thing.

Google have just released a How To video for Glass. It’s a very short 1 minute video, but it’s been created to help new users understand how to use Google Glass.

You can clearly see the video is aimed at true beginners so it’s inevitable that a public release is coming soon. All we need to know now is when and the price. If it’s under £500, take my money.

Wireless charging is become the next best thing when it comes to mobile devices, with devices like the Nokia 920 and Samsung Galaxy S4 having the feature.

The great thing about wireless chargers is that they can be hidden and can work through materials. So one Nokia 920 owner took his wireless charging to another level by implementing into his night stand. Now there is no evidence of a charger or any wires, creating the image of true wireless. It almost looks like a magic trick.

It’s nothing short of awesome and once I get a device which charges wirelessly, I’ll definitely be doing this.

Also with battery technology developing at a slow rate compared to the devices we use everyday, no one knows when they’ll catch up.

Continuing my reviews of the products Incipio sent out to me, here is a quick review of the Feather Hard Shell case for the MacBook Air 13-inch.

This hard shell case is made from plastic and simply attaches to the top and bottom of the Macbook Air. It attaches via very small clips. Thankfully it’s very easy to remove the shell if you need to, without the worry that you’ll leave a scratch or two.

The shell is pretty thin. Not razor thin, but enough thickness to add a very good layer of extra protection.

It has a matt rubbery texture, the same kind of texture you’ll find on many new smartphones these days. It does provide substantially more grip than the normal aluminium frame of the Macbook Air.

You still of course get access to all the ports on the Macbook, with a lot of space around them so any connections fit properly and snug.

Would I use the shell in my everyday life? Probably not but that is completely down to preference. I like the luxurious feel of the aluminium frame of my Macbook Air. I feel like wrapping it in plastic ruins the aesthetics. But like I said, it’s completely down to preference. Something like this would easily be a very suitable for someone who feels like they need an added layer of protection.

The Une Bobine is a neat product which doubles as a charger and tripod/floating dock. This so simple and useful at the same time. It’d be a great fit in the car especially, where car holders and docks can be ugly and get in the way. With the cable being bendy you can fold it down or stretch it out, keeping the phone floating in front of you. It would be a great way to talk hands free and use Maps for any navigation – all while your phone is being charged too. There is an array of uses for something like this. It supports the iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, 5 and Android phones.

Panasonic have just announced their latest addition to their Micro Four Thirds series of compact cameras. I’m a huge fan of Micro Four Thirds cameras and actually have a GF2 which is my primary camera.

This new GF6 model isn’t for the enthusiast like the GX1 is but it’s a great camera for someone who just likes taking pictures with the basic options there.

The camera has a new 16 megapixel Live MOS sensor, a big upgrade from the GF5′s 12 megapixel sensor. Panasonic have included their new Venus Engine which they claim will give better low light pictures.

There is a new 3-inch display on the back which is now tilt-able. A tilting screen was usually reserved for the more sophisticated models in the G series, so it’s great to see it brought over to the GF series. It can tilt all the way up by 180 degrees which enables users to take self portraits.

The most notable features are the built-in WiFi and NFC. This is a first for the GF series. It enables users to now download pictures straight to their computer and use their phone/tablet as a remote shutter.

Of course it still has full HD video recording capability. But nearly all of the models in the GF series are poor when it comes to video recording so don’t expect it to be great.

I’ve been looking for a successor to my trusty GF2 and I’m hoping this will be it.

Blackmagic have just announced their new, affordable, Pocket Cinema Camera. The company is known for their amazing video cameras which are used by professionals all over the world. A lot of films you’ll see nowadays are made with cameras which are made by Blackmagic.

This new Pocket Cinema Camera combines a range of tech that Blackmagic uses in their other very high-end cameras.

A very notable feature about this camera is that it has 13 stops of dynamic range which is pretty incredible. It’s what gives you a smooth finish in your recordings so parts of the image aren’t too dark or too bright.

It supports the common Micro Four Thirds system for lenses. And the main one they seem to be using in their demos is by Panasonic, it’s a 14mm lens at f/2.5. I actually have this lens and it’s pretty awesome, very small, very quick and it gives some very sharp images.

It has a variety of ports which enable you to accompany the camera with lots of accessories. It has a headphone jack, microphone jack, HDMI port and a LANC remote control port.

The sensor is 12.48mm by 7.02mm which isn’t actually that big, smaller than even the standard Micro Four Thirds sensor. It records in full 1080p at up to 30fps. It has a 3.5-inch screen on the back with a 800×480 resolution which is pretty low. But then you can connect an external monitor via the HDMI port.

With it being priced at £665 it’s definitely affordable. It’s very small and portable and can come in handy when you want to take your video recording up a level. But don’t expect it to match some of the video recording capability of a DSLR.
