Google Glasses is a very different product from what Google usually offer. The idea of wearing glasses all the time that interact with the world is something that’s usually a fantasy or too expensive for the consumer market.
Google at first will only be offering Google Glasses to developers to help build the product so consumers will have to wait. But Google have launched a competition which will allow anyone to get their hands on the product if they follow some steps.
Here is how to enter:
Using Google+ or Twitter, tell us what you would do if you had Glass, starting with the hashtag #ifihadglass.
- Your application must be 50 words or less
- You must include #ifihadglass in your application
- You can include up to 5 photos with your application
- You can include a short video (15 secs max)
- You must be at least 18 years old and live in the U.S. to apply
Unfortunately the competition is limited to the US which is a bummer for most. But this is the only way for an average consumer to get their hands on a product which is years ahead of its time.
Sorry guys it looks like I completely misread the terms and conditions of the competition. You don’t actually win a pair of Google Glasses – you win the chance to buy a pair.
The deadline for applications is February 27th. If you are chosen, we will reach out to you with an invitation to become a Glass Explorer. Explorers will each need to pre-order a Glass Explorer Edition for $1500 plus tax and attend a special pick-up experience, in person, in New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles.
