There are various content management systems out there catering to just about every niche you can think of. The only problem is finding the gems, the ones that perform well and cater to their niche in terms of usability and design.
Koken is a content management system which is specially designed for photographers, designers and artists. It’s completely free, can be installed on your own server and very customisable.
The dashboard itself is more like a desktop app and puts media at the centre of attention. It helps you manage your images and videos super easy, and keeps all your files very neatly organised.
Don’t worry about having to create a blog where you write down thoughts or updates, Koken comes with a blog interface built-in. So you can ramble as much as you like.
When you’re a creative you don’t want to look at code, it’s ugly to you. So Koken comes with a very organised customisable interface which lets you add your own personality to your site. You can change all sorts of things such as the font size, thumbnail size, background colour, column spacing and much more. It’ll show you a live preview too so you can see your changes before actually making it live. Of course, if you still want to mess around with the code, you get access to that too.
Koken comes with six minimalistic, responsive themes for free that are all very customisable. The six themes cover most needs, and with the available options, you’ll still be able to make yours look different from the rest.
Koken is in BETA at the moment so it’s not perfect. However it is completely free. As with any BETA product, features are being added constantly and bugs are being fixed so it’s worth updating regularly.
