Instagram Updated to 3.2, Adds New Filter & Improved Camera Mode

Even though Twitter released photo filters for their official app, Instagram also has an update up its sleeve.

Instagram has just been updated to version 3.2, and they’re saying it’s their largest upgrade since their revamp over one year ago.

The camera is part of the app has got the most significant change, being completely revamped, using it’s own design.

The camera is now Instagram themed, using a square preview box for picture taking. This is perfect for framing your picture perfectly. A preview of your most recent picture is shown in the picture taking mode. It’s also quite a bit speedier.

The name of the new filter is willow. It is a monochrome filter which has a slight purple tint to it. They say it’s brilliant for portraits, still life and architecture.

Tilt-shift has been improved. One of the main problems before was that the preview version and the final version were not accurate, so you would never know how the final version would look when applying tilt shift.

There are also some other improvements.

The news feed has been redesigned so you can easily track any new notifications. Thumbnails are larger, making it easier to tell which one of your pictures was liked.

Filtered photos are now saved to their own separate album in the camera roll. Very handy for quickly flicking through all your Instagram pics which have not been downsized.
