As with every year, there is a whole bunch of new tablets which are released. It’s hard to choose and decide what one is best for you. Here we have a selection of the best tablets available right now in the UK.
The Best & Most Powerful
Google Nexus 10
The Nexus 10 is easily the most powerful and best tablet available right now. It has a 10-inch 2560×1600 (300ppi) display which is the best display you can get on a tablet at the moment. The resolution of the screen is most likely better than that TV you have sitting in your living room. With it having a 300 pixels per inch it is literally like newspaper print so text is really crisp. That screen is also covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 2 which means it’s practically scratch proof. The tablet also has two camera, 2GB of RAM, dual-core processor, micro HDMI port, comes in 16GB or 32GB variations, and runs the latest version of Android which lets you have different user accounts so it can be shared with a number of people. The tablet is also super thin at only 8.9mm. But the best thing about this tablet is its price, the 16GB model only costs £319 which is way cheaper than its competitors.
iPad with Retina display (4th generation)
The latest iPad may not be the most powerful, have the best screen or be thinner compared to the Nexus 10. However something which most of the Apple products have got going for them is the apps. The App Store is undeniably the best place for apps and they are what hugely enhance the experience of a tablet. If you’re not too bothered about having the most powerful tablet and are more interested in tablet specific apps, the iPad is for you.
Google Nexus 7
The Nexus 7 is easily the best value for money tablet out there at the moment. It definitely isn’t the best tablet out there in terms of performance, but is more than enough for most. It has a 7-inch 1280×800(HD) display which absolutely perfect for watching movies on and viewing pictures. With it being only 7 inches in size it easily fits into a jacket pocket and into some jean pockets. It has 1GB of RAM and comes in 16GB and 32GB variations. It also runs the latest version of Android. The 16GB version is only £159 which can be an impulse buy for many, it was for me.
The iPad Mini was released by Apple to provide a smaller form factor and a cheaper alternative to the main iPad. It takes the old iPad 2 screen but makes it smaller, adds a better processor, better cameras and a super thin form factor. It’s a brilliant alternative to the main iPad, with an over £100 difference.
