Microsoft Surface Tablet, And The Epic Ad For It

19/06/2012

Microsoft have at last announced a tablet made by themselves, something which has been rumoured for a while now. Microsoft weren’t eager on confirming specs but what they did confirm was that there will be two versions of the tablet.

A basic version which will compete with the likes of the iPad and Android tablets, and a more hardcore version which works like a fully blown PC.

The basic version will be powered by Windows RT, a cut down version of Windows 8. It’ll have a 10.6-inch screen, will be 9.3mm thin, will weigh 1.5lbs, will include a built-in kickstand, magnesium casing and will come in 32GB and 64GB variations. The resolution of this one is unknown currently.

The more hardcore version which will run the full blown Windows 8 will also have a screen size of 10.6-inches, will be 13.5mm thin, will weigh 1.9lbs, will have USB 3.0 support, will include a built-in kickstand, magnesium casing and will come in 64GB or 128GB variations. It will also have a full HD resolution.

Microsoft also revealed a cover which comes for both tablets, a touch version and a type keyboard version. These are actual smart covers which completely defeat Apple’s so called “Smart Cover’s” for the iPad. They have fully functioning keyboards and even a trackpad.

Pricing is yet to be announced. The Windows RT version will be coming out around this October, while the full Windows 8 one will be coming three months later.

Also make sure to check out their epic ad for the tablets. A lot better than what anyone else has ever come up with.
