Ever wonder what the inside of some of your favorite video game offices look like? Around the world gamers are using their products 24 hours a day, but we have no idea what their–presumably glamorous– work spaces contain which could be a factor to their game design philosophies and general tone. Below, we’ve got a collection of 10 fantastic offices from some of you favorite video game companies. With all the money these companies make, offices of this caliber is expected.
EA San Fransisco
Located in Redwood Shores California, this fancy office has two restaurants, a large gym, a volley ball and basketball court, and even it’s own Starbucks. Apparently, these are just a few of the amenities.
Three Rings
Decorated with steam punk as the inspiration, the San Fransisco based office has a game room, relaxing lounge area, and a hidden room behind a bookshelf.
Guerilla Games
Creators of the well known Killzone franchise, their office is much simpler than the ones shown above. With 160 employees, this Amsterdam office is decorated with Killzone inspired art.
Naughty Dog
Creators of my beloved Crash Bandicoot, Naughty Dog will always have a place in my heart. Their Southern California studio has developed award winning games such as Uncharted and their brand new game, Last Of Us, is probably going to be one of the best games of all time. The studio has an active basketball team, yoga sessions at the office, figure drawing sessions, and of course, a nice theater room.
Blizzard
A company that needs no introduction, Blizzard has created games that literally take countries by storm. With events for Starcraft that are as large, if not larger than our Super Bowl, Blizzard knows how to make games that people play for decades.
Packed with figurines and decorations from Starcraft, World of Warcraft, and Diablo, Blizzard employees love having a great office to work in. Whenever they do get a break, they can go play games in their arcade or play volleyball outside.
Pocket Gems
One of the most fun and lively designed offices, Pocket Gems’ workspace just screams youth. The free to play mobile game developers may not get gigantic statues, but with open spaces and a large kitchen, you can’t go wrong.
Level 5
One of the most calming and serene offices, Level 5′s interior design takes a modern and even minimalist approach. The Japan based game studio really knows how to bring elegance to the video game industry.
Polyphon Digital
Known for Gran Turisms, Polyphon Digital’s office is extremely modern. The 2,600 square foot Tokyo based office is peaceful and there’s this sense of focus. Large glass windows and open space gives this place a clean and organized feel.
Santa Monica Studios
Of course you know Santa Monica Studios. There the reason why we’re going around killing gods as Kratos in God of War. If for some strange reason that game doesn’t ring a bell, then maybe Twisted Metal or the new Playstation Battle Royale title will let you know the kinds of games these guys and girls make.
With those titles on their plate, you’d expect them to be extremely busy and it sure looks that way. The office is smaller than the previous ones we’ve seen, but don’t let that fool you. Here, they’ve got their own user-testing lab for all PlayStation platforms and an extensive games library with approximately 2,000 titles. It also has six custom sound design pods housing the latest in innovative equipment. Their recreation area includes arcade and console games, table tennis and pinball machines. The relaxation room is a quiet space with built-in sound system and expansive music library.
Media Molecule
Last, but not least is the light-hearted Media Molecule office. They developed the amazing Little Big Planet and once you see their office, you’ll understand why that game is also so joyous and fun.
