Cloud storage is great! It allows a back up for your data which can be accessed anywhere with an internet connection and it’s quick and easy to retrieve if you need to recover it.
Upon the release of the new Box.net app for Android (1.6.0), Box.net is offering a free 50GBs (gigabytes) of storage to anyone who downloads & installs the app and then logs in with their account. That’s all there is too it, no catches. Standard accounts usually only come with 5GBs of free storage so this is quite the improvement and much better than the bonus storage we have seen from rival Dropbox. Of course, once you have this bonus storage you can access it through your computers web browser to back up your files; regardless if you continue to use the app or not.
The app’s changelog includes:
View and add comments to files
Invite folder collaborators
Improved uploading experience, including the ability to batch upload multiple files from an SD card
Updated UI including use of the standard Action Bar
Now localized in German, Spanish, French and Italian
App2SD!
Contacts Permission: We only use this permission to quickly retrieve email addresses when you want to invite collaborators, and do NOT store any contact information on Box’s servers.
This offer is running until the 23rd of March so you have plenty of time to help your friends and family the free storage too!
