Google has launched a blog to tie in with Google Music Beta, in order to provide a music discovery service.
Google says: "Each and every day, our team of music experts will highlight new, free music on Magnifier. Sometimes it will be songs you haven't heard of by artists you have. Sometimes it will be new artists we think deserve more attention. And sometimes there will be video interviews and live performances"
The best thing about the service is that the music can be added to your Google Music Beta library free of charge and from then on is yours to keep. I'm interested to see how this will pan out and how many mainstream artists will have their work featured on the blog? I have a feeling will see much more from small, unheard of artists. Another improvement I would like to see is a way to filter the blog by music genre; thus acting more like a real music discovery/suggestion service. But after all it's free, and beggars can't be choosers.
