I don't know whether to laugh or think, they might actually pull this one off.
Sainsbury's UK have announced that they will be fitting iPad docking stations right into their trollies, which tilt and also come with a set of speakers. All shoppers need to do is slot their iPad in. The trollies will also be equipped with solar panels and batteries to charge your iPad on the go.
Obviously with this kind of equipment shoppers can get distracted very easily so they are fitting the trollies with front bumpers and a warning sensor which beeps away when you get too close to anything.
The trollies were made by SKY to promote their SKY GO service which allows SKY customers to watch live sports on the go on their mobile devices.
Ian Burgees, the guy who designed the trollies said:
Being able to create a gadget that is practical yet innovative is often a challenge but I think with the trolley we've cracked it. The trolley can be used in the traditional way for shopping yet streams the latest sports news.
I go to my local Sainsbury's all the time but pulling out my iPad and docking it into the trolley will either make me look cool or a right prat.
