BMW i Family, Is This The Future of Road Cars?

With global warming being a forever growing problem because of us, the human race, we should find ways to slow down the process right? BMW have come out with a new series of cars called "i" which will supposedly help us care for our environment better.

They i series has been causing a lot of hype around the web, across all the major tech and news websites with the radical designs and amazing fuel consumption.

The i3, the small city runner can hold up to four people and has a 100 mile range from one charge. It will also accelerate from 0-60mph in 8 seconds and will take around 6 hours to fully charge.

The i8, the sporty one with major aerodynamic design has a hybrid diesel-electric engine under the hood. The car apparently only drinks 2.7 litres of fuel per 100km which comes to about 87 miles per gallon which is a bit crazy for a car that can go from 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds.

However all this is what BMW is hoping to get when the expected release date is 2014 so you never know it may be better or worse, time will tell.
